| When Otik purchased Baling Hai in 1983, it was nothing more than bushes, rocks and kamote plantation. Step-by-step, the place has grown to what it is for today. With much courage, supportive friends and family, Baling Hai has been one of the most kept secrets on the island. Just as we used the light of the moon to navigate our manual bangkas in the very beginning, our cottages were once nipa huts as accommodations. With time, we have evolved and changed our materials into rock, cement and hard wood. We combine local minerals with modern facilities to keep the charm of the bungalows. |

GARDEN HOUSE 25 meters on top of the beach, lies the uniquely designed Garden house. This is a two bedroom, open air cottage with a large intricate garden within the house! The spacious bedrooms and garden are beautifully shaded by an enormous tree while still having views of the sea from every angle. It is our only cottage with a Jacuzzi placed in the middle of the terraced greenery where you can actually see an occasional sailboat pass by. Both bedrooms contain large queen sized beds, each with individual seating areas to relax and be engulfed by Nature's spectacle surrounding you BAT HOUSE The Bat House spreads its wings and lies on the hill 12 meters over our cove's smaller beach. Above the cozy veranda is an intricately designed large bathroom and bedroom with unique folding doors opening up to the sea. Similar to the Hill House, the veranda below is a beautiful and spacious place to read and relax in your seclusion. The Bedroom contains a large double bed for two persons, with possibility of 1 extra bed. TREE HOUSE The Tree house is a two-story family sized house which lies 25 meters above the beach. The first floor veranda has a kitchen, dining area and, as the name says, a tree in the living room! With beautiful views of the ocean, this house is equipped with 2 separate bedrooms with their own balconies: The first, very spacious, contains a queen bed and the second, a large double bed for two adults or four small children ROCK HOUSE The rock house is built on top of a rock, literally. Our honeymooners favorite is a very secluded, two-story, spacious house. The open air living room (see picture at the right) faces yet another seating area which looks out onto an enormous view of the sea. There is a private entrance to the cove's similar beach 10 meters away. The bedroom upstairs has a double bed for 2 persons with possibility of an extra bed for a child. HILL HOUSE On the hill next to our main beach, slightly hidden behind trees, lies the Hill house. Similar to the rest of the cottages, the bedroom offers beautiful views of the sea, and unique wooden folding doors that open and close for your preferred privacy. The veranda below serves as the perfect lounging area after a day spent in the sun, with a very comfortable and spacious seating area. The bedroom contains a large double bed for 2 persons. Created to resemble the traditional nipa huts of the Philippines that inhabited Boracay island prior to the extreme tourism is our hut house. As this cottage is designed similar to a classical nipa hut, we make sure to include the present day basics with the traditional. A living room with hand carved furniture (and of course a hammock!), private bathroom, a comfortable bedroom for 2 upstairs, and views of the sea and Greenery. Simplicity and tradition is the key. BIG HOUSE A combination of what was before and what is now is the Big House. Created to experience life with nature but still equipped with modern facilities like airconditioners and television. It has two bedrooms each having a king sized bed with a glass window to be able to enjoy the wonderful scenery around you. |
